Authorised Logbook Service in Canberra

Autoco is a log book compliant vehicle repairer in the Canberra Area

What does this mean?

Our three Autoco mechanical servicing shops cover the greater Canberra area and are approved to complete a new car and log book service on most vehicles. This means that if you wish to continue regular servicing on your vehicle, you can bring it to Autoco and still maintain the vehicle’s warranty.

Why Autoco for Log Book?

A log book service with Autoco will guarantee you an affordable service with reliable quality and outstanding customer service. We use quality parts and will service your car per the log book recommendations and checks. We’ll also keep you informed of any areas that need attention outside of these checks. As an approved Log Book repairer, we will keep your logbook up to date with the required stamp.

My dealership said my warranty would be voided

Whilst your dealership mechanic will specialise in your make of vehicle, they do not have to repair or service your vehicle to maintain the log book compliance (which ensures your vehicle remains under warranty).

As reported by the Australian Aftermarket Association in June 2014:

‘The Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) has welcomed an Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) statement re-affirming that car owners can get their vehicle serviced by an independent repairer, using “appropriate quality” parts and qualified staff, and still maintain their manufacturer’s or extended warranty coverage.’

Why is a log book service so important?

  • Warranty
  • Resell Value
  • History

Log Book service records ensure that your warranty stays in tact. As stipulated by the Australian Competitive and Consumer Commission (ACCC) ‘In relation to general servicing, motor vehicle dealers are entitled to insist that any servicing performed on cars they sell is carried our by qualified staff, according to the manufacturers’ specifications, and using genuine or appropriate quality parts’. Selling a vehicle with a log of its complete history allows you to demand a better price on your vehicle. Like any record, a log book service history provides the proof that a vehicle has been cared for. It also means that other mechanics that work with your vehicle can do so with a sound understanding of your vehicle.
